I downloaded a lesson to my desktop and the file won’t playback.

Lessons are downloaded in the .mp4 file format, they can be viewed in a compatible media player.

The files will generally play back best in Quicktime (available to download for free), and will also work in other media players like VLC or Windows Media Player.
